Epigraphs - colors and types

What the colors mean, the four Epigraph types and their Warrior, Ranger and Warlock versions.

1. Understand the colors

  • Every Epigraph has a color that tells you its rarity and how strong it is: green = R (basic), blue = SR (early upgrades), purple = SSR (strong combat upgrades), gold = UR (the best, long-term development). Higher colors give bigger bonuses and are harder to get.
  • Green and blue Epigraphs are general-purpose and easier to replace — fine as fillers while you build up. Purple and gold are the ones worth planning around: they carry faction-specific bonuses and are the versions you will craft, promote and protect. Keep useful pieces of any color until you have a replacement.

Tip: Feed the green and blue epigraphs to Raven Evolve to raise the Raven's levels. Only use purple and/or gold epigraphs in the epigraph plan.

2. The four types — and their faction versions

  • There are four Epigraph types, and each type fills its own slot in an Epigraph Plan:
The Raven Epigraph Plan screen with the four slots numbered. Below the slots, the plan shows the squad it is assigned to (Change Queue lets you pick another squad), and the I–IV diamonds at the bottom are the four plans, which unlock as Raven Evolution rises.

  • Which piece fits where (see the numbered picture above):
  • 1 — top slot: Frenzied Flock (Attack).
  • 2 — center slot: Guard of Nature (Initiative).
  • 3 — left slot: Protective Charm (Defense).
  • 4 — right slot: Reversal Power (Support).
  • Each slot is marked with the icon of the type it accepts, and a piece only fits the slot matching its own type — match the small corner icon in your game to confirm.
  • Guard of Nature — Initiative. Provides conditional protection; the supplied Guard of Nature III — Warrior example reduces damage while qualifying heroes remain above 50% HP.
  • Frenzied Flock — Attack. Offensive benefits triggered by the Raven’s skill.
  • Reversal Power — Support. Supports selected heroes or abilities; some versions benefit the hero with the highest ATK.
  • Protective Charm — Defense. Improves survival; some versions increase qualifying heroes’ DEF through battle.
  • Each type also comes in a Warrior, a Ranger and a Warlock version. The purple and gold versions carry a faction-specific bonus that applies only to qualifying heroes of that faction — a Warrior Epigraph strengthens your Warriors, not your Rangers or Warlocks. A mixed squad is not automatically excluded; only the qualifying heroes receive that effect. This is why you craft and collect Epigraphs for the faction your main squad actually fields.
  • Effects, targets and strength can change by rarity and promotion. Read the specific item rather than assuming every version shares the same numbers.

3. Equip your first plan

  • Raven Evolution level 10 unlocks the Epigraph System and your first plan. This is the Evolution track, not your ordinary Raven level.
  • The second plan unlocks at Evolution level 150; plans 3 and 4 follow at Evolution levels 300 and 450.
  • Check each available slot and fill it with the correct Epigraph (either purple or gold). Remember you are trying to match the faction of your Squad 1. In most cases it is Warriors. However, if it is mixed, it is ok. You will make changes as your squad grows.
  • Check the squad assignment in the plan screen. For most beginners, assign the first plan to Squad 1. Equipping is not the same as feeding an Epigraph to the Raven.

Example 1

You have a warrior squad 1. You want to assign your plan to this squad. Look at which epigraphs you already have in purple and gold. Which of these are for warriors? Assign these to the correct spot. If you have the same one in gold and purple, use the gold one. If some spots are left, you can assign the epigraphs for other factions - ranger or warlock.

Example 2

Your squad 1 has mixed heroes - warriors, rangers and maybe warlock. Look at which UR epigraphs you have. If you have any, assign them first without worrying about faction. Then assign any SSR epigraphs. Later as you build your squad and acquire more epigraphs, you can change your plan.

4. Unlock more plans

  • With only one Epigraph Plan, its buffs apply only to the squad assigned to it. Unlocking additional plans lets you assign Epigraphs to additional squads; one plan does not strengthen every squad at once.
