Decide what the squad is for
- Choose a job for your second squad: another available march, routine battles or a second team for an activity that requires it. Check the activity's requirements before investing.
- Use heroes outside your main five and look for a workable balance of survival and damage. Do not weaken your main squad just to make both teams look equally strong.
Build from what you have
- Start with heroes whose shards you already receive regularly. Check their skills for effects that complement each other.
- Use spare resources and equipment where possible. Reserve scarce universal materials for your main priorities until squad two has a specific need.
Set an investment limit
- Choose a practical target: surviving a particular encounter or completing the task you assigned to this team.
- Test the squad, identify its weakest point and make the smallest useful upgrade. Revisit the team when a new activity or hero changes its job.
